SEAG transfer test information session

Dear Parents/ Carers,

We have arranged a SEAG transfer test information session for Wednesday April 29th 2026 at 6pm in school to answer any questions you may have around the transfer test.

This session will be delivered by Miss Brady, the Vice Principal.

The transfer test will take place in November 2026 for pupils currently in Year 6.

Key Dates for 2026 SEAG Assessment:

Registration Opens: Monday, May 18, 2026
Registration Closes: Friday, September 18, 2026
Assessment Paper 1: Saturday, November 14, 2026
Assessment Paper 2: Saturday, November 21, 2026
Results Issued: January 2027

Whilst the transfer test is a limited instrument with which to measure children’s academic ability it is currently the only way in which a child can attain a grammar school place.

In class we teach at a level commensurate with the ability levels required to pass the transfer test (SEAG). We teach all pupils according to their level of ability with specifically tailored work.

Not all pupils are presently at this level and not all pupils will register for the test.

We have started test papers in class.

Our transfer club will commence in early May dates to follow.
