30th June 2025
Dear Parents and Carers,
I want to thank you for your support during this academic year.
As we reflect on another year, we pay tribute to Ms O’Neill who will retire on June 30th 2025. She has been a great servant to the community and I know you will join me in wishing her a happy, healthy, and long retirement.
We have achieved a lot this year both inside and outside school.
We are at present having work done to replace some classrooms, corridors and provide our children with a new, safer school entrance. We have recently completed work on our school external playground.
We have attained our PATHS accreditation , and our SUSTRANS Silver Award.
Our children were outstanding in our Christmas Pageant and end of year play ‘The Jungle Book’.
School finishes at 11.am on Monday June 30th for all pupils. (No dinners will be served.) Breakfast Club is available as normal.
In September school reopens for all classes at 8.50am each day and we would respectfully ask that you do not send your children into school earlier than this unless they are booked into Breakfast Club. We ask that you do not drive into the school grounds unless absolutely necessary. For the safety and security of your child and the whole school community parents must ring the school to arrange an appointment to speak with a teacher or the school Principal. Parents should not enter the school building without an appointment.

Uniform:
Given that uniform is an integral part of our identity as a school, we would encourage parents to please ensure that full uniform is worn at all times. Black shoes or black trainers must be worn- Coloured trainers are not permitted. Children doing PE or attending clubs must wear their school uniform to school but will be allowed to change into their PE gear once in school. Children must not arrive at school in football tops or tracksuits.
Jewellery:
Following guidance from EA, children are not permitted to wear hooped or free hanging earrings. If an earring must be worn, please ensure that it is a small stud which should adhere to health and safety guidelines.
Hair:
We would ask parents to ensure that children’s haircuts are neat and do not include lines or designs.
Healthy Eating:
Fizzy drinks can no longer be part of your child’s lunch box. Please ensure that break and lunch is as healthy as possible. As an allergy aware school we have a zero tolerance towards nut-based products such as Nutella. These measures aim to make our school a better place- a safer place and one which we can all be proud of.
Carpark:
We have secured the continued use of The Metropolitan Tabernacle car park and would ask that parents do not drive up the school lane for collections and pick-ups. Should you have any issues or concerns you can speak to me at the school gates each day or phone Mrs Scibiorska to arrange a meeting with either myself or your child’s teacher.
New parking arrangements will be in place next year as we manage our move to a new playground.
I will be in touch with more detail around this.
Gerard Barrett.
